Epcot @ Disney World

On December 30th, 2008

Here we go at Disney World, where dreams come true! There are 4 differents parks in there and we went at Epcot. This park is divided into 2 parts: the first one has some attractions which show the Future World, but the second part - World Showcase - shows 11 countries of the world, each with their culture, food and monument.

So you have Canada, United Kingdom, France, Morocco, Japan, United States (The American Adventure), Italy, Germany, China, Norway and Mexico. It’s pretty nice, you really feel to be in the country when you visit one. And for fun, you can have a local drink in each country, and try to not to get drunk :)

Just before New Year’s Eve, there are so much peoples in the park, it’s crazy! Thanks to Val and Antoine, we get lunch at “Les Chefs de France”, a gourmet restaurant. It was so delicious because I miss so much french food! But I had my duck :)

And at the end of the day, there was a special fireworks to celebrate the New Year! If you want, there are more pictures in the gallery up here.

Key West and the Southernmost Point of Florida

On December 27th, 2008

Key West is known as the Southernmost City in the Continental United States. It is also the southern terminus of U.S. 1, State Road A1A, and the East Coast Greenway.

Key West is 129 miles (207 km) southwest (229.9 degrees) of Miami, Florida (about 160 driving miles) and 106 miles (170 km) north-northeast (21.2 degrees) of Havana, Cuba. Cuba, at its closest point, is 94 statute (81 nautical) miles south.

Key West is a seaport destination for many passenger cruise ships. The Key West International Airport provides airline service. Hotels and guest houses are available for lodging.

Naval Air Station Key West is an important year round training site for naval aviation due to the superb weather conditions. It is also a reason the city was chosen as the Winter White House of President Harry S. Truman.

The central business district primarily comprises Duval Street, and includes much of the northwest corner of the island along Whitehead, Simonton, Front, Greene, Caroline, and Eaton Streets and Truman Avenue.
