The Pier

On March 25th, 2009

Located in Downtown St. Petersburg, The Pier is a nice place to take a walk by night. Actually, the whole downtown is pretty charming: you have fancy restaurants, bars, nice buildings and beautiful sightseeing of the bay. So it’s very animated.

The wearing of the green

On March 14th, 2009

Shame on me for not wearing green clothes for the Saint Patrick’s Day! And fortunately, nobody pinched me :)

So we went to our famous place - Ybor City - where people celebrated worthily this event, wearing green and costumes with big parades. Thanks to that, I’m wearing some green now and can expect some luck lol

Saint Patrick’s Day (Irish: Lá ’le Pádraig or Lá Fhéile Pádraig), colloquially St. Paddy’s Day or simply Paddy’s Day, is an annual feast day which celebrates Saint Patrick (circa AD 385–461), the most commonly recognised of the patron saints of Ireland, and is generally celebrated on 17th of March.

The day is a national holiday of Ireland: it is a bank holiday in Northern Ireland and a public holiday in the Republic of Ireland. It is also a public holiday in Montserrat. In Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, the United States, Argentina and New Zealand, it is widely celebrated but is not an official holiday.

Let’s go Lightning!!!

On March 3rd, 2009

We have some tickets for the NHL game tonight thanks to Transitions Optical, official sponsor of tonight’s game to promote their golf tournament in couple weeks: Transitions Championship.

Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Pittsburgh Penguins

I was not expecting so much fun! When the hockey puck is behind the goal, players burst against the window so hard that the stadium sounds! And I don’t know exactly the rules but when they fight each other it is very impressive!

Unfortunately, we lost 1 - 3…but still a great game :)

Kennedy Space Center

On February 22nd, 2009

The John F. Kennedy Space Center (KSC) is the NASA space vehicle launch facility and Launch Control Center (spaceport) on Merritt Island, Brevard County, Florida, United States. The site is near Cape Canaveral, midway between Miami and Jacksonville, Florida. It is 34 miles (55 km) long and around 6 miles (10 km) wide, covering 219 square miles (567 km2). A total of 13,500 people work at the site as of early 2008. There is a visitor center and public tours; KSC is a major tourist destination for visitors to Florida. Because much of KSC is a restricted area and only nine percent of the land is developed, the site also serves as an important wildlife sanctuary; Mosquito Lagoon, Indian River, Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge and Canaveral National Seashore are also features of this area. The American Flag painted on the Vehicle Assembly Building was the largest in the world at the time of the VAB’s construction, and has stars that measure 6 feet in diameter. The stripes would be wide enough to drive a bus down if it were laid out horizontally.

Monster Jam in Raymond James Stadium

On February 21st, 2009

Monster Jam is a live motorsport event tour and television show operated by Feld Entertainment. The series is sanctioned under the umbrella of the United States Hot Rod Association (USHRA) and takes place primarily in the United States. Although individual event formats can vary greatly based on the “intermission” entertainment, the main attraction is always the racing and freestyle competitions by monster trucks.

Very spectacular! Trucks look so giants that we seem to be so tiny, it’s like Transformers lol We had a very good time even though we arrived very late (and missed the first part of the show). Lesson of the day: leave early at this kind of events, one hour before is not enough…

So winners are:

Monster Jam Racing Winner Monster Jam Freestyle Winner
Gunslinger Taz

Talking about the freestyle winner, his last move was awesome: he just threw himself for the show!

An American show like we love it :)

AND DEDICATION TO THE BUCS!!!
